Church planting is one of our highest priorities. A
permanent place where people can go to worship Jesus together with
other believers, and be taught and challenged in their relationship
with Jesus Christ is so important. As Christians we are called to go
and make disciples, thus our vision extends far beyond the location of
the Stephen Center in Tirane. The Stephen Center has planted and
supports six churches, five of which are in Albania and one in the
neighboring country of Kosovo. The workers at the Stephen Center alone
cannot evangelize the entire nation of Albania. It is through
multiplying ourselves and starting new churches that these church
plants become vital parts of the communities they are in –
evangelizing, reaching out and meeting the needs of the people where
they live. It is the prayer of the Stephen Center that through these
churches Albanians would be trained, discipled, and become servants in
love and trust to their nation by adopting the vision to take the
Gospel of Jesus Christ to their own people.
It is exciting to see the multiplication, and even more exciting
to watch as the churches which have been planted out of the Stephen
Center are now beginning to plant churches.
Our church in Sarande planted a church in the nearby gypsy village of Cuka in
2002, which continues to grow and mature.
All of these churches, whether planted directly from the Stephen Center or through one of the churches it has
planted, are facilitated, supported and under the covering of the Stephen Center and recognized by the International Church
of the Foursquare Gospel as registered churches.
