Welcome to the Stephen Center

The Stephen Center is a not-for-profit community outreach center consisting of a restaurant, B&B, conference center and bookstore opened in 1994 by Chris & Laura Dakas, American Christian missionaries. After the fall of the communist government in 1991 Laura & Chris felt the need and desire to teach and train Albanians with life skills while promoting a sense of inclusivness. At the Stephen Center locals learned how to cook, run a small business and serve all guests, regardless of religion, race, culture or gender, with excellent, friendly and professional service. That focus continues today while welcoming travelers from all over the world to an inclusive, clean and cozy place to relax and enjoy quality and homemade style American and International foods. Additionally, the Stephen Center serves as a base of operations and gathering place for outreach programs in the Balkans from missionaries and organizations throughout the world.
